In addition to the General Humanitarian Return Programme, IOM Vienna also implements country-specific Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR) projects. Currently, IOM Vienna implements AVRR projects in seven selected countries of origin: Afghanistan, Georgia, Iraq, Nigeria, the Republic of Moldova, Pakistan and the Russian Federation / the Chechen Republic. In the framework of these projects, which are co-funded by the European Return Fund and the Austrian Federal Ministry of the Interior, voluntary returnees are offered tailored in-kind reintegration measures which aim to equip them with the necessary means and skills to sustainably re-establish themselves in the society and economcy of the country of return.
