Requirements

Excellent command of spoken and written English and/or German as well as basic knowledge and interest in the field of migration are prerequisites for a successful application. Knowledge of other languages is a distinctive advantage.

Internship within the project CULTRAIN

From January 2012 onwards, IOM is developing and implementing the project CULTRAIN during which trainings promoting cultural orientation in order to support the integration process of unaccompanied minors are offered.

Currently there are no open internship positions within the project CULTRAIN.

Internship in the Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration Department

IOM Vienna implements country-specific return and reintegration projects that aid voluntary returnees in re-establishing their lives in their country of origin. Interns are recruited to assist in the implementation of these projects in Austria. Interns assist in the implementation of project-related activities.

Internship positions for German native speakers with very good knowledge of English and Russian are available starting in August 2013  (for 3-6 months).

Internship in the Diversity and Integration/Counter-Trafficking Department

Human trafficking is a crime that violates victims' human rights and demands an effective and comprehensive response. Interns are recruited to support the unit in implementing counter-trafficking projects in Austria and assisting in the liaison function with federal ministries, NGOs and other national stakeholders.

Internship position will most likely be available starting in August 2013.  Very good knowledge of German is a prerequisite for a successful application.

Internship in the Research and Migration Law Department

IOM Vienna also offers internships in the research and migration law department within the framework of the National Contact Point Austria in the European Migration Network (EMN). More information on the National Contact Point Austria is available here.

Excellent command of spoken and written English and German are prerequisites for a successful application.

Both internship positions are currently occupied. Applications for both positions are however continuously accepted. The internship position "Network" is presumably again available starting in August 2013. Applicants are requested to indicate their availability in the application!
